The difference between traditional fertilizing and deep root feeding is that tradition fertilizer is paced on the surface where as the process of deep root feeding places the fertilizer under the surface. The reason trees receive little if no benefit from surface fertilizing is because the roots of trees are below the roots of other plants and grasses. By the time the fertilizer reaches the tree roots most of the nutrients have been extracted by other plants that are in the area, this why proper deep root feeding is so vital to your trees health. At Sussex Tree we believe that if we can’t be the best at it than we don’t do it at all. For this reason we use fertilizers that are specifically designed for each species of tree and the current state they are in. Our arborist also calculates how much fertilizer a specific tree needs so that there is no wasted product. In the long run this saves us time and our client’s money.
