Plant Health Care & Protecting Your Landscape
Spring is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about your landscaping. We all want a yard full of beautiful and healthy plants! Have you ever considered a plant health care program? Not sure what that is? Simply put, the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) defines a PHC program’s objective as “ to maintain or improve the landscape’ appearance, vitality, and safety, using the most cost-effective and environmentally sensitive practices and treatments available”. And who doesn’t wish for their landscapes to have a lovely appearance while keeping costs minimal and being environmentally friendly?! These programs may include routine monitoring, preventative treatments, or corrective treatments for pest issues or nutrient deficiencies. The choice is yours! We can treat issues on a on-off basis or monitor and treat your property for an entire season.
At Sussex Tree, our programs include all trees and shrubs on your property (we want to protect them all!). While trees are typically the most dominant ornamental feature in your landscape, they share the same soil and nutrients as your shrubs do. This is why it is so important to know what treatments are being applied in the landscape. These treatments can affect all the plants on your property. Here at Sussex Tree, we uniquely tailor each PHC treatment or program to your specific needs. We’re here to help! When one of our arborists meets with you, they can make recommendations not only for treatment, but can also provide trimming or removal recommendations.
We are here to help your yard look it’s best, especially just in time for Spring! If something in your landscape doesn’t look quite right or if you would like us to discuss maintaining your healthy landscape, give us a call today. One of our Certified Arborists would be more than happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have!
